COURSE DESCRIPTIONS, TOPICS, OUTLINES AND
OBJECTIVES
Getting started with Feng Shui
All modules start again in New
York City October each year
Feng
Shui is often called "The Key to Good Fortune".
The Feng Shui journey is a deep, poetical view of life's underlying
influences. It is a language of Universal cosmology and change.
We will explore what this means on all; levels, physical, emotional,
spiritual and universal. You will learn the how and why of "Energy
Design" techniques that have been associated with Feng Shui
masters for thousands of years. You will learn how to combine
the intuitive thinking processes of Feng Shui and analytical
techniques, a blend of east and west, of right and left hemispheres
of awareness.
This module will present the definitions
and principles of Feng Shui. You will learn why Feng Shui works
and how it can enhance your life so you can achieve results
in your living and business environments. Most modern designs
lack the concept of Energy flow- and energy awareness. You
have most likely heard of the concept "sick building syndrome".
Some houses just don't feel right. Some businesses do badly
for no apparent reason. Find out what the major contributing
factors to these situations are.
In the East, no major decision for business
design or location is made until it is thoroughly investigated
by a Feng Shui expert. William S. Doyle, Vice President of
a New York advertising agency describes why he uses Feng Shui
in his 16,000 square feet of offices. "People need to understand its 3,000 years of common
sense, codified and turned into principles which can be repeated
with foreseeable results. This is an art form; there is a reason
why it is done. It is practical and pragmatic."
Here is
an excerpt from one of our recent graduates:
"In recent
years, people have become more aware of their impact - largely
negative - on their environment. As we strive to come to terms
with and slowly begin to repair the damage that has been done
to the earth, the atmosphere and beyond, there has been an
increasing awareness of humanity's relationship with the earth
and the universe. The popularity of Feng Shui is a natural
consequence of this awareness since it is precisely this relationship,
between heaven, earth and humanity, which must be balanced
to achieve good fortune and good health for all. Not coincidentally,
humanity must begin to honor this relationship once again in
order to ensure its prosperity in the future." -Erica
Goldstein, architect OAQ Graduated from McGill University,
Montreal, Quebec, 1996 Registered by the Order of Architects
of Quebec, 2007 Currently studying with Roger Green.
Module 1 consists of an exploration of the
origins and history of Feng Shui, the different schools of Feng
Shui, the development of Feng Shui's most powerful tools and
an explanation of the underlying principles that allow Feng Shui
to work. This includes a strong emphasis on "Form School" (one
of the 2 original schools of Feng Shui).
You will gain an understanding of the Taoist (daoist) Art of
Design and its part in environmental awareness and Solar Architecture.
Unravel the complexities of the yin-yang principle and 5 elements
theory and learn how to utilize them in design to enrich life
and create the best energetic qualities for health and prosperity.

and prosperity.

Ba Gua to Flying Star techniques
with Roger Green
The universe and all it contains is essentially energy in a
continual state of transformation. The ancient Taoist sages of
the East observed powerful insights into the inner working of
the universe, and devised methods to trace the everlasting process
of change- the rhythm of the order of the universe.
In Module 2 we continue our journey with
an introduction to Compass School Feng Shui (the second of
the original 2 schools of Feng Shui). Using the Western Lopan
developed by Roger Green, as a reference tool, you will be
led through an exploration of all that is possible when the
8 compass directions are combined with the dynamics of yin/yang
and the 5 elements theory. With the introduction of the eight
directions we follow the evolution of the "Later Heaven Trigrams" to construct the "Bagua",
an octagonal mandala with infinite uses in Feng Shui. We examine
the Lo Shu, or the magic square of Feng Shui, as it leads to
the Ming Gua and Ba Zhai methods, the core of "Eight Houses" Feng
Shui.
Extensive workbooks by Roger Green are issued to students of
this program. These workbooks cannot be acquired anywhere else.
The result is an integrative, comprehensive, stimulating and
innovative training program, considered by many to be the finest
in the world. The SFSFS curriculum has been consistently updated
and improved over the years to reflect the most relevant subject
matter and has set many trends in Feng Shui education. This program
reaches through the centuries to successfully integrate the thousands
of years old origins of this art and science with the requirements
and actuality of contemporary life.
The training program offers many advanced
techniques, and emphasizes the classical schools of Feng Shui.
THE FLYING STAR TECHNIQUES:
Here we will enter into the exploration of Flying Star Feng
Shui and a more in-depth, advanced study of the Lo pan Compass.
The Universe is ever changing and natural
influences evolve with the passage of time. Flying Star Feng
Shui incorporates the elements of time and space. Discover
how to trace the pattern of change through the 20 year periods
called "ages".
Learn how to access the fortune of a dwelling. With practice,
one can become skilled at how to unblock energies that affect
the aspects of prosperity and health in a dwelling.
The Lopan Compass is the essential tool in Classical Feng Shui.
Its many rings reveal vital information in assessing a dwelling
or building site and contain a large body of knowledge that encompasses
classical Chinese philosophy, numerology and cosmology. The Chinese
Lopan can take a very long time to master since it requires prior
learning of the Chinese characters. The Western Lopan developed
by Roger Green simplifies the process and makes it easier for
the western student to learn and use.
The Lopan reveals the different energies
affect the site. With this knowledge, you can do an in depth
analysis of a home or business. An understanding of the Lopan
is considered one of the highest arts in the world of Feng
Shui.
You will learn to:
- Recognize the cycles of time and different ages.
- Transform or 'fly' in a forward or reverse manner
depending on the age and orientations involved.
- Understand chart combinations, including inauspicious
combinations.
- Enhance auspicious combinations.
- Integrate previous knowledge of the form and
Ming Kwa schools with the flying star to produce a professional
report.
- Master the 81 combinations.
- Master advanced use of the western Lopan.
- Translate the I Ching compass reading into the
context of a space.
- Map the Lo Shu portents of your dwelling.
- Identify the directionology associated with
your year of birth and integrate it into your design; including
the position of the Xian Chi for enhancement of relationships.
- Discover the arrangement of the 28 lunar mansions.
- Integrate time and space for a more effective
Feng Shui consultations.
- Construct a flying star chart using
a shortcut developed by Roger Green.
- Map year and month charts.
- Apply the appropriate cures (techniques for reversing ill
fortune and improving luck).
- Understand the symbolism of numerology including analyzing
addresses and phone numbers.
- Integrate associations of the 8 trigrams (body parts, family
member, symbolism, directions) to further predict the tendencies
involved.
- Learn how to read and create your own Lopan.
- Derive Ming Gua and Ba Zhai information directly from Lopan.
- Locate the 'hsueh' - (the feng shui spot).
- Identify the 'flying star' ring.
- Use techniques for applying to the Southern Hemisphere.
- Determine auspicious water and mountain locations for placement.
In creating these systems of Feng Shui Astrology, ancient people
took into consideration the underlying influences of universal
cosmology and the cycles of change. Flying Stars Feng Shui is
the most widely used method in Asia. Many of our students have
also studied Flying Stars Feng Shui and the Lopan with other
teachers. Their reporting has been consistent: Roger Green has
offered them the clearest, most understandable discourse on the
subject, and his teaching methods simplify the processes so that
they are truly usable on every project. Many students have reported
that they experienced a huge increase in their Feng Shui abilities
after experiencing this course.
"Roger Green opens a life's journey into feng shui. He
teaches with rampant enthusiasm & his intuitive knowledge
appears to have no boundaries. The course is soul inspiring.
An absolute gem! I would do it again." - Ian
BAGUA, MING GUA and BAZHAI METHODS:
Using these methods you will learn how to draw an energy diagram
that illustrates the 4 auspicious and 4 less auspicious directions
for the individual (Ming Gua) and for the structure (Ba Zhai).
Once you have mastered these two powerful techniques you will
be able to make informed and relevant choices for optimal design,
which relate equally to the structure and the people that inhabit
it.
These techniques influence the selection of:
- Basic floor plan layout.
- Ideal color choices.
- Ideal locations for doorways.
- Ideal fabric, carpet and furniture choices and placement.
- Ideal bed orientation for improving your sleep potential.
- Ideal orientation of desk for home or professional office.
- Ideal alter locations.
- Ideal location for Master Bedroom.
- Ideal locations for maximum prosperity.
- Ideal location for water features.
- Ideal location for kitchen and hearth.
- Ideal locations for garages.
- Best locations for bathrooms and storage.
- And more!
This module will cover:
- The basic use of the Lopan compass.
- Compass Feng Shui for northern and southern hemisphere.
- Constructing the Bagua (North and South).
- The origins of the Lo Shu magic square.
- Ming Gua method (auspicious direction for the self).
- Ba Zhai method (auspicious directions for the structure).
- East and West life groupings.
- Integrating Ming Gua and Ba Zhai with Form School assessment.

- Balancing the Lo Shu portents.

Roger Green. Some of the subject matter is quite intense. Roger's
Light hearted generous and very insightful teaching style opens
the door to maximum understanding for the students."

The 4 Pillars Cosmology and
Horoscope
This
sophisticated form of astrology is an important Feng Shui tool
for advising a client. Interpretation, once mastered, can be
applied to auspicious timing, relationship compatibility, lucky
colors, personalized feng shui design recommendations and many
other aspects. It is an amazing and deep study of cosmological
influences, and a rare form of astrology not widely known in
the west. Only a handful of westerns have been able to master
this art.
Discover the richness of eastern philosophy and learn how to
apply its principles to health, design, prosperity and spiritual
transformation. The 4 Pillars Astrology is based on Taoist Metaphysics
and Cosmology, and is used extensively by Feng Shui experts in
China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Time changes everything. Therefore, time cycle Feng Shui is
a must in the study and application of Feng Shui. Discover the
energetics and elements that make up your potentials. Uncover
many aspects of destiny, constitutional dynamics, and beneficial
elements. Learn the 60 Jia combinations of Time Cycles Men Qi.
This course will cover advanced methods and many case histories.
You will learn how to make your own chart, interpret it and do
the same for others.
The Four Pillars is an ancient system that reveals aspects of
destiny, constitutional dynamics, and beneficial elements. This
sophisticated method is as useful for deriving important and
very personal Feng Shui information about Feng Shui clients such
as aspects of their character. Armed with superior knowledge
of their clients and their needs, the practitioner can optimize
the relevance and results of the consultation.
Four pillars is an ancient system of constructing
a Horoscope based on the "Heavenly Stems" and "Earthly Branches" at
the hour, day, month and year of birth. Interpretation is the
result of examining the manner in which the elemental and animal
archetypes contained in the charts interact with aspects within
the chart as well as conditions in the world.
Four Pillars' greatest strength for Feng Shui is its ability
to accurately determine the Element make-up of the subject. Once
the self-element is determined beneficial elements can be recognized
and the most appropriate Feng Shui adjustments and design choices
can be made.
Let Roger take you on a fascinating 4 Pillar journey in time
and space, yin-yang, spirals and elements to the very core of
the formation of your constitution.
Roger Green is a pioneer of Four Pillars in Western culture,
having introduced these methods for the first time to thousands
of students in Europe, UK, USA and Australia. He created the
first effective protocols for 100% correct chart calculations,
stressing the importance of correct local solar time and developing
the appropriate adaptation for the calculation of Southern Hemisphere
charts. This work has never been accomplished before in history.
Included with this course is an extensive step-by-step manual
for calculating and interpreting Four Pillars as well as Roger's
simplified technique for creating Four Pillars and Luck Pillars
charts.
“I have been learning Flying Stars
for 3 years and have studied with several of the other teachers
including a correspondence course. Only after taking this workshop
with Roger Green have I been truly able to put it all together.”
“This was the most comprehensive training a Feng Shui
practitioner could get. Being part of the NY School of Feng Shui
is an ongoing process of learning and achievement. We are prepared
to offer clients a full spectrum of options when asked to enter
their living or working space. I am grateful for the experience
and encourages to choose the same path.” Barbara, NY Student
2003

Practical Feng Shui Projects
and Site Consults
Simple Steps to Harmony with the Lessons of Wind and Water
Those who get the most from life are the people who get the
most from themselves. To help achieve this potential, Feng Shui
allows us to create an environment that flows naturally, releasing
any blockages. Feng Shui is about harnessing 'chi', the life-force
which ripples water, creates mountains and propels us along our
path.
Discover how the Form school of Feng Shui can help you recognize
the landscapes and buildings which provide support for the residents
of homes and office buildings. Find out how to balance negative
forces that can deplete prosperity, health and well being. Combine
form school principles with classical compass methods and apply
them in a practical setting for the benefit of your clients,
and yourself.
In this module, students will have the opportunity
to gain practical experience and apply all they have learned
in the first 2 modules holistically. They will also have the
opportunity to challenge themselves, find out what they've mastered
and become aware of the areas that require further review. The
focus of this module is to build confidence in our student practitioners
and to assure that they are well trained before practicing on
their own. The first 3 days of this module are dedicated to practical
site visits. Students will have the opportunity to experience
the components of actual consultations in a variety of settings;
all under the expert supervision of our faculty and graduates.
The final day is dedicated to the review of the course work
to date. There is a take- home revision exam that will be reviewed
on day 4. Students will also have the opportunity to present
their Feng Shui Consultation Project to the class for review.
These projects will be further expanded later in our Ecological
Living Designs modules. You will finish our training program
with a beautifully presented Feng Shui and Eco Design presentation,
refined and well crafted, artistically prepared, graphically
correct, and ready to be used on your website, client portfolio
and PowerPoint presentation. Completing the revision exam and
the project are required for certification.
Doing Consultations
Our goal at our Feng Shui School is to ensure that
our students are comfortable and adept in making professional
feng shui consultations. Students will be required to perform
consultations in between modules, so that they can consolidate
and apply the information as they gain the necessary, practical
experience. After the first two modules, students will perform
one consultation, and after acquiring more skill and confidence,
students will be required to do two or three after each of the
remaining modules.
Features of our programs:
- Learn the Taoist Art of Design and environmental
awareness.
- Absorb the mysteries of these ancient techniques as they are
decoded and taught by Roger Green.
- Understand the 4 pillars Horoscope, one of the most fascinating
systems of metaphysics.
- Identify the directionality associated with your year of birth.
- Use an English language designed lopan compass to use with
the ancient flying star techniques.
- Start to integrate these techniques into effective feng shui
designs and recommendations.
Student requirements:
- Access to an email account, computer and printer.
- Access to a digital camera.
- Art material list provided to students eg coloring pens, ruler,
compass, etc.
- Good temperament and respect for our teachers at all times.
- Being punctual.
“Our consultation
was awesome. The students who came to give us the consultation
were so knowledgeable. They listened well and asked us great
questions. The questions helped us to focus on what we wanted
to get out of our consultation. After speaking to them we realized
that keeping our work and personal life separate was our main
goal since we both work from home.”
“They went above and beyond
that. We learned about what colors where best for our personalities,
where the best place to put things in the house are and how
to enhance the aesthetics naturally present in our Edwardian
apartment. Right after they left we started moving things around
and the suggestions we have already taken have really shifted
things in the house. Since my workspace is not separate from
the rest of the house our whole life and relationship has shifted.
We are creating more balance. It was a great experience; I
would recommend it to anyone.” Darshana Weilland Chris
Berkner, San Francisco
“The New York School of
Feng Shui is a gift to all who want to know the “real
deal” about feng shui. No gimmicks here.
This was a true educational experience. The importance
of knowing why certain treatments and cures work is stressed.
Roger Green is a master feng shui practitioner who generously
shares his life experience and knowledge of this ancient Chinese
art with his students with humor and with grace and ease. By
the end of the course work I was confident that I had the
tools and the knowledge necessary to be of service to people
interested in “being feng shuied”.-Melissa Moorer

Living Environments, you will learn how to avoid and transform
environments that are debilitating and destructive and explore
a range of tangible and subtle elements which positively impact
the environments that support all of life. The nature of reality
is guided by the choices we make. In no other practice is it
more important to choose wisely and consciously than in our building
practices and materials. Building in a sustainable manner is
imperative for global survival and the preservation of humanity.
Explore exciting possibilities for creating spaces following
Ecological and Sustainable Design principles. Become familiar
with the process of designing earth friendly structures that
support life and bring joy to those that inhabit them. A resource
guide to green and sustainable materials as well as class room
instruction on design will be provided.
The Healthy Dwelling and Eco-Design Principles
Knowledge of Building Biology is an essential component
of the Feng Shui course in that it enables us to guide our clients
towards optimum health. When giving a client advice on the best
way in which to arrange their home - we need to be aware of any
environmental factors that may compromise their health. This
training also addresses the biological and health aspects of
our dwellings. We will examine strategies to detect and mitigate
conditions such as indoor pollution and physical dangers in our
living and workspaces. Learn to test, diagnose and provide solutions
for creating healthier indoor space using organic design principles
and materials.
Air Quality
We can't live without air. However,
often we are living with air that is neither fresh nor clean
- and doing so compromises our quality of health and longevity.
Increasingly in our homes and offices, the air quality is depleted
because of moulds, or the variety of chemicals and synthetics
that we use. These are multiple harmful elements in the products
that we bring into the house, or are already contained in the
building materials and/or the furnishings in the home. We will
examine what these chemicals and synthetics are, how we come
across them in everyday life (usually without being aware of
it), the impact they have on our health, and how to turn the
situation around so that we can move closer to the fresh, clean
air we used to breathe.
Water Quality
We Are water. Water is a fundamental
requirement for life. Traditionally, our water supply came from
constantly moving streams, rivers or springs and was energized,
clean and pure, adding to our health and vitality. These days
the water that comes out of our taps is often a depleting cocktail
of bacteria, heavy metals, pesticides and chemicals. We'll take
a good, strong look at the state of our tap water - what's been
added to it, what that means for our health - and most importantly,
what we can do to provide ourselves with water that actually
nourishes us once again.
Passive Solar Design
Passive solar design is essential,
along with day-lighting strategies, to encourage balanced emotions,
comfort, and efficiency.
Green Sustainable Design
Natural materials and conscious practices
support sustainable daily living while ensuring resource efficiency
and a healthy environment.
Ecology
We will explore the inter-relationship of
humanity and the natural environment. "You will come away
from this course with an impressive array of very usable tools
that you can immediately put to use in your work".
Electromagnetic Fields
Increasingly in today's industrialized world,
we are inundated with previously unknown sources of chemicals
and pollutants and unseen electromagnetic and microwave radio
frequencies, which are unleashed into our environments from
appliances, building materials, and finishes. It is a well-known
fact that chemicals, inorganic compounds, molds, allergens,
electromagnetic fields, and microwaves can cause biological
stresses and disease to the body. The effects of "Sick Building Syndrome" are
now widely felt in our homes and in our office environments.
Spending time near electromagnetic fields, and microwave transmissions
is now a fact of life. They fill our air and surround us on a
daily basis - whether we're aware of it or not. In order to safeguard
our health, and that of our families, we need to become aware
of what they are, where they are, what they're doing to us, and
how to minimize their effect on us. If you've ever wondered about
power lines, substations, laptop computers, wireless technology,
baby monitors,low-voltage lights, clock radios, electric blankets,
mobile phones, cordless phones, microwaves - or any of the other
appliances in your home or office - then this is the course that'll
give you the answers!
Learn about the differing types of fields, how they are produced,
and also refer to the research about their impact on our health.
We'll look at what we now call 'everyday' situations, in the
home and office, and at ways in which we can avoid or minimize
the amount of fields that are present in our homes and offices.
We also learn to prioritize which areas of the house are most
important, which appliances or technology we need to use with
caution, and how we can still live in the modern world whilst
protecting our health.
Sustainable Living Environments:
- Study the relationship between human health
and building design.
- Learn how to design the Energy Efficient Dwelling.

Sacred Geometry
-The Alchemy of Design
For more information on our Sacred Geometry
Practitioner courses visit our website: www.AcademySacredGeometry.com
Sacred
Geometry can be defined as an understanding of the underlying
numerical and geometric principles of Creation. Using an awareness
of ratio, or the relationship between two or more elements, Sacred
Geometry demonstrates how everything in the Universe is connected
and that the only power that can truly create is Love. The more
coherent a space is the more vitality it will nurture.
There exists in nature patterns in shapes, colors and mathematics
that are the description and content of creation. Within these
patterns we encounter the underlying principles that make it
possible for our universe to exist! The movement of energy as
it proceeds in its never ending process of transformation can
be seen. It is a universal language of truth, harmony, beauty,
proportion, rhythm and order. Within the dance lie sub-atomic
particles, spiraling galaxies, wave theory, zero point, holographic
fields, the fractal universe, geometry of DNA, and finally, sacred
architecture. Embark on this path to understanding who you are,
where you are from and where you are going.
Throughout this dynamic module you will:
Draw the
sacred shapes and explore their integration into real world design.
We will explore the practical uses in spatial design - a fusion
of Geomancy, science and Feng Shui, while integrating sacred
geometry and architectural harmonies into our work. Every culture
and society, since the beginning of time has had their version
of a synergistic interrelationship with these patterns. We will
view case histories and examples of the patterned language of
nature, including geometric shapes, music, art, the human body,
landscaping, architecture inspired by the Cosmic Order, including
Feng Shui, Sacred Geometry and Vastu Shastra (vedic design) Mandalas.
Historical as well as cultural perspectives will be entertained
so as to draw a relationship between primitive indigenous and
modern design. By studying the nature of these forms and their
relationship to each other one may gain insight into the scientific,
philosophical, psychological, aesthetic, and mystical laws of
the universe.
Building Materials
As a rule of thumb we should employ building materials in a
state closest to that in which they are found. The more coherent
a material is the more vitality it will nurture. (best first)
Metals: Gold, palladium, platinum, silver, copper, iron, tin,

- An introduction to the language: the shapes,
numbers and patterns.
- The geometry of living forms: the golden section,
Fibonacci sequences, the five-pointed star and the spiral.
We will also
look at the idea of beauty and how the parts relate to the
whole.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of how
Nature moves, grows and expresses 'Harmony'.
- Learn the fundamentals of what is called 'Sacred Geometry'
or Divine Ratio.
- Learn the Basic Principles of creating Harmonic or 'Sacred
Space' by using Shape, Ratio and Proportion.

less judgemental, more loving (more coherent) and specifically
when we make ourselves available to 'clear' energy.
- Learn the importance of creating individual and group Bliss
in our lives.
- Develop a greater appreciation of our collective role and
responsibility in the creation and maintenance of our Eco-System
and beyond.
- Have the opportunity to explore how this knowledge can raise
our awareness and bring us one step closer to Remembering Who
We Truly Are.
- Study the symbolism of numbers and shapes through discussion
and stories.
- Explore the way sacred space is created in cultures from
around the world.
- Learn how geometry relates to the idea of beauty and harmony
in our lives and the world around us.
- Experience the ideas of sacred space from different cultures
by drawing the patterns.
Sacred Architecture
"The
bee hive and the pine cone are excellent examples of sacred architecture
because as biological capacitors they implode charge, making
life and bliss possible and sustainable. They are made of biologic
di-electric (self-similar at atomic and molecular symmetry levels),
what Reich used to call orgone material, really names for fractal
capacitive di-electric. The reason a beehive or a celtic straw
hut in sea spray makes things live so long, is because they are
good capacitors. Ancient dolmen sites, fresh eggs and even cathedrals
hold life in bliss in the spell of their charge, because they
are 'in charge' - that is - FULL OF CHARGE. Life occurs when
biological structures learn to gather charge in enough different
wavelengths to cause them to compress or 'implode'. When enough
different waves gather in one place in the Golden Mean ratio
they begin to suck in an infinite number of other waves - but
always in Golden Mean ratio. This is the only way the universe
has of arranging an infinite (in-PHI-knit) number of waves to
gather at ONE point without hurting each other."
"As nature uses shape to hold
charge or life force, it makes complete sense to use nature's
shapes and proportions for the shape of our spaces and buildings.
In terms of architecture and design of space, I believe that
by creating spaces that are based on the pure principles of
natural design we provide a sacred environment that can nurture
our bodies, minds and spirits. We can literally design to raise
the vibration of the inhabitants. We can use our quantum consciousness
to create the space, and to clear it of any stresses that do
not serve life."
- Michael Rice
Initiation into understanding:
- The Universe is made of one substance and
has one shape - the Sine Wave.
- The world is made up of waves and sacred proportions.
- Geometry produces symmetry. Waves get permission to arrange
themselves and to store memory from 'ONENESS', through the
Golden Mean 'Phi' ratio - the secret of the universe and
the most accurate scientific pure principle to describe how
things relate and function, evolve, change and manifest.
- Waves are drawn to FOCUS and automatically sort themselves
and agree to sustain via Sacred Geometry. They align to still
points, creating 'CHARGE', 'ecstasy' and LIFE FORCE.
- When the harmonics of the brain-body-heart-planet enter into
NESTING, they do so by the principal of FRACTALITY. The small
is within the large; the pattern of your fingertip is the same
as the galaxy.
- The doorway of perception is to holographically connect all
of life processes - past, present and future.
"The Earth is rude, silent,
incomprehensible at first, Nature is incomprehensible at first,
Be not discouraged, keep on, there are divine things well envelop'd,
I swear to you there are divine beings more beautiful than
words can tell." -Walt Whitman ( 1819 - 1892, American
Poet )
"Number is the within of
all things" -Pythagoras ( c. 580 - 500 B.C., Greek philosopher
)
"The only definition of sacred
(sustainable) architecture is the skill to fabricate a biological
capacitor. The way success is measured in a building (or
anything) is harmonic inclusiveness of charge density (life)." -Dan
Winter
Sacred Geometry and Architecture
The Alchemy of Design With

Learn
How to Create Sacred Space and Allow the Geometry of Space to
Support and Sustain Conscious Intent
Sacred Geometry is the study and practice of the
pure principle set of operations that underpin all natural expressions
and processes. In ancient times, this knowledge was considered
vital, (quite literally) if one wished to create a truly sacred
life within a sustainable community- health and harmony. This
module of study is designed to re-introduce and integrate this
timeless life design philosophy into a modern context.
As
nature uses shape to hold charge or life force, it makes complete

Universe is connected and that the only power that can truly

Sacred geometry, or spiritual geometry, is the
belief that numbers and patterns such as the divine ratio have
sacred significance. Many mystical and spiritual practices, including
astrology, numerology, tarot, and feng shui, begin with a fundamental
belief in sacred geometry. Architects and designers may draw
upon concepts of sacred geometry when they choose particular
geometric forms to create pleasing, soul-satisfying spaces.
Sacred
Geometry incorporates and utilises certain natural geometries,
shapes, forms, ratios and growth patterns to create life and
living sustainable systems- from the formative fabric and primary
structure of the Universe, Stars and Planets- to the fundamental
creative role played by consciousness, awareness and compassion.
Our thoughts, when amplified by coherent emotion, literally create
reality. When we begin to understand who we are and what we want-
we can use this knowledge to help us make it so.

the Yin Yang and how they relate to modern science and principles
of design
- Exploring the secret of how the Yin Yang is a multidimensional
template (or map) for understanding geomagnetism and other
core elements of Feng Shui
- Discovering how the flow of chi integrally relates to the
Yin Yang form through the principles of Sacred Geometry
- Investigating how the Yin Yang is intimately related to
the resonant proportions and symmetries of human anatomy
- Exploring the mysteries of Squaring the Circle and the
harmonics of balancing Heaven and Earth
- Learning advanced construction techniques of the Ba Gua
and other classic geometric symbols of China with architectural
compass and straight edge
- Developing a sensory, kinesthetic 3-D geometric experience
of these primordial patterns and flow-forms
- Zooming in on the toroidal and vortex geometries of ancient
Chinese imagery and exploring how they reveal the living
geometries of Nature
Day I Circle and Square
Our
path begins with a multi-media glimpse of the rich culture
of ancient China and its cosmology. With Heaven Above,
Earth Below, the deep geometries of Nature and the Universe
are discovered embedded in art, architecture, astronomy, sacred
measure, navigation, alchemy, and symbolism.
Throughout this course we explore the traditions
of Taoism. Buddhism, and Confucianism and how the relationship
of Human to Cosmos was an elemental expression of the Chinese
culture. The primary tools of architectural compass and straight
edge are at the heart of geometry. Throughout history, geometers
have been initiated into the meditative art of geometric drawing
as a spiritual practice and a practical skill. In this session
we participate in this ancient tradition through drawing the
archetypal forms of Circle and Square. We develop our
confidence and skill level by progressing to more complex forms
such as The Hexagonal Matrix, the Yin Yang and the Lo Shu Magic
Square.
Day II The Octagon and Other Key Geometric Forms
The Tao gives birth to One.
One gives birth to Two.
Two gives birth to Three.
Three gives birth to the Ten Thousand Things.
-Lao Tzu
This session begins with a comprehensive multimedia
presentation on Sacred Number, the Lo Pan Compass, the Ba Gua,
the I Ching, the Five Elements and other key geometric patterns
in Chinese cosmology. We will explore the pentagon and
the Five Elements as well as octagonal geometries and how they
all arise from the Yin Yang. Using advanced compass skills
we will construct the Ba Gua and other complex forms and explore
how they are interrelated. We will examine the geometric aspects
of the Lo Pan Compass as well as the Sacred Geometry of the
seasons and cycles of time in Chinese Astronomy.
Day III Yin
Yang
Being and Non-Being create each other…
-Lao Tzu
The
Tai Chi, known in the west as the Yin Yang, is a familiar symbol
that embodies the philosophy of non-dualism or complementarity. Its
key principles of polarity and harmony as well as cyclic and
wave motion are reflected throughout the cosmos. We will explore
this archetypal geometric form found throughout Chinese culture
through a unique multi-media presentation and discussion.
By meditatively drawing variations of the Yin
Yang with the geometer’s tools we will explore the principles and pathways
of Fractal, Toroidal, and Vortex Geometries and how they map
the phenomena of Electromagnetism, Chi, Human Anatomy, and
Primordial Chi Kung Geometric Movements.
"Geometry has
two great treasures: one is the theorem of Pythagoras, the
other the division of a line into mean and extreme ratios,
that is the Golden Mean. The first way may be compared to a
measure of gold, the second to a precious jewel."
--Johannes Kepler (1571-1630)
Day IV Squaring the Circle and
Cubing the Sphere
One
of the oldest puzzles in human history is how to construct
a square and circle that have equal perimeter or area. This
problem has fascinated mathematicians all over the world for
centuries leading to the mystery of pi and representing something
that appears logically impossible. Like a Zen koan, this level
of paradox can invite the mind to transcend the rigidity of
logic and arrive at a deeper level of meaning. With Heaven
as Circle and Earth as Square, this ancient riddle expresses
an underlying aspect of the whole of Chinese cosmology that
points towards the relationship of Emptiness and Form; Spirit
and Matter. Our multimedia presentation explores how this paradox
is woven throughout Chinese art and architecture.
In truest Taoist fashion, our final day brings
us full circle back to where we began…in Mystery. How can our sacred
geometer’s tools resolve this ancient riddle?
Using a variety of Advanced Geometric
construction techniques, we will demonstrate that:
The Tao is filled with infinite possibilities.
-Lao Tzu
Througout these 4 days we will also be exploring:
- Art, Color, & Design
- The relationship between Geometric Design & Architecture
- The Golden Proportion in Nature, Art and Architecture
We will take a pictorial tour of key geometric shapes and
symmetries that form the blueprint of our world from the macrocosmos
to the microcosmos.
- A look at images of the human body and how the golden proportion
is an elemental aspect of our human make-up.
- How the laws and principles of geometry surround us in
our everyday lives
- Discover
geometric shapes and symmetries that occur in Nature, by
observing leaves, blooms, and other natural formations
- Get to know the Geometer‚s Tools-
exploring with Compass and Straight Edge
- Reflection, Discussion and Time to digest your feelings
and thoughts.
Connecting with Geometry
as a deep spiritual pathway to understanding who you are
- what is the purpose of “Being Here Now” and
the insights into Universal PhilosophyThe Knowledge of which
Geometry aims
Is knowledge of the Eternal.
Plato, Republic VII, 52
Geometry is One and Eternal,
Shining in the Mind of God.
That share in it accorded to men
Is one of the reasons that Man Is the Image of God.
--Johannes
Kepler
There was something formless and
perfect
Before the Universe was born.
It is serene. Empty.
Solitary. Eternally present.
It is the mother of the Universe.
For lack of a better name,
I call it the Tao.
-Lao Tzu
Advanced Feng Shui and site visits
Practical site visits, Revision Exam, Student projects
In this Module, students will have the opportunity to gain practical
experience and apply everything they have learned so far in a
holistic way. They will also have the opportunity to challenge
themselves, know what they have mastered and become aware of
the areas that require further review. The focus of this module
is to build confidence in our student practitioners and to assure
that they are well trained before going out on their own.
The first 3 days of this module are dedicated to practical site
visits to different locations. Students will have the opportunity
to experience the components of actual consultations in a variety
of settings; all under Roger Green's expert supervision. The
final day is dedicated to the review of the year's work to date.
There is a take- home exam that will be reviewed on day 4. Students
will also have the opportunity to present their Project to the
class. Completing the exam and the project are a requirement
for certification.
Our goal is to achieve 100% success rate. Students
who are not quite up to speed will be encouraged and given support
in their weaker areas so that they may meet the standard of the
school.
Doing Consultations
students in a classroomWe will make sure our students
are comfortable and adept in making professional feng shui consultations.
Students will be required to perform consultations in between
modules, so that they can consolidate and apply the information
and gain the necessary, practical experience. After each of the
first two modules, students will perform one consultation, and
after acquiring more skill and confidence, students will be required
to do two or three after each of the remaining modules.
Creating Your Feng Shui Practice
Through a unique business plan, we will help students dedicate
to a solid business formula. You will learn vital marketing skills,
such as creating a business card, promotional brochures and website
development. We will help you begin and get you motivated to
start attracting clients. You will learn how to consult and follow-up
with clients for a 2-3 month period and sustain the relationship
for up to 6 months or more.
Instructed by: Roger Green
Testimonials:
"Our consultation was awesome. The
students who came to give us the consultation were so knowledgeable.
They listened well and asked us great questions. The questions
helped us to focus on what we wanted to get out of our consultation.
After speaking to them we realized that keeping our work and
personal life separate was our main goal since we both work
from home."
"They went above and beyond that.
It was a great experience; I
would recommend it to anyone."

"The New York School
of Feng Shui is a gift to all who want to know the "real
deal" about feng shui. No gimmicks here.
This was a true educational experience. The importance of knowing
why certain treatments and cures work is stressed. Roger Green
is a master feng shui practitioner who generously shares his
life experience and knowledge of this ancient Chinese art with
his students with humor and with grace and ease. By the end
of the course work I was confident that I had the tools and
the knowledge necessary to be of service to people interested
in "being
feng shuied"."

Testimonials from one of the longest established Feng Shui curriculum...
This was the most comprehensive training a Feng Shui practitioner
could get. Being part of the NY School of Feng Shui is an ongoing
process of learning and achievement. We are prepared to offer
clients a full spectrum of options when asked to enter their
living or working space. I am grateful for the experience and
encourage you to choose the same path. Many blessings, Barbara,

Dear
Roger, My language is not perfect, I feel more than I can express…
Roger’s “Learn Tao” course really made a connection
for me, Feng Shui Practitioner, with Chinese Traditional Medicine
and created a holistic view on a person within an environment.
It helped me to address my own health issues and see my friends
and clients health problems in a new way. I felt like I found
the answers that I’ve been searching for years. I’ve
done a lot of research and study before I’ve met Roger
Green and the depth of his knowledge really impressed me. I thought
I will take a course or two from him, but I could not stop, I
ended up taking all of them. He is full of knowledge and wisdom,
he is humble and humorous, perhaps, like a Real Taoist Master
and Teacher should be. Natalia Kaylin (UKRAINE)
I just read through your information on Feng Shui in the southern
hemisphere and wanted to thank you for the quality of your writing.
I am moving house in Melbourne and I've been using the approach
you describe for 2 years following a period of trying to live
with the conventional method for the northern hemisphere. I found
the difference to be enormous, but don't seem to rub shoulders
with many people of like mind. Your explanation makes me feel
comfortable with what I have done.
Thanks for taking the time to read this message, and for your
brilliant article on the website. With Best Wishes, Dean Sky-Lucas

You would be so proud of me as
I am being flown to Kentucky - all expenses paid for my first
full paying consultation. This woman's house burned down 9
months ago leaving only the foundation. She has already rebuilt
the house and is soon to move back in when she found me. I
have also been practicing on other people and just did one
of my acupuncturists home and spent 5 hours with her. It is
amazing when you do a combination of the 4 Pillars with the
home. This is truly healing on a deep level. Thank you so much
for this ancient wisdom and being in my life. – Melanie,

"I'm studying Feng Shui with Roger Green from Australia.
He's the best teacher of any subject that I've ever encountered!
The amount of information that he brought into that short introduction
to this work was incredible. But more importantly, he instills
this incredible sense of joy, wholeness, hope and fun into
life! He has a great Australian accent, has a wonderful
sense of humor, and teaches ancient wisdom that we all recognize,
but have forgotten.” -Nancy, Yoga School Manager

What an awaking seminar! It enlightens
me deeply, giving me far more that I could imagine. The first
module showed me that from the microcosm of human life, we
learn the vast & profound
realities of the macrocosm. Roger Green couldn’t have been
a better guide for exploring this integral & harmonious way
through the natural principles of Feng Shui. Isn't what we all
are seeking in our turbulent society?

“Roger is a powerhouse of wisdom! His teachings style
is down-to-earth and easy to understand, as well as knowledgeable
and entertaining. It’s a great balance for learning from
him whether you’re a beginner or advanced student.”

“Roger Green brings a wealth
of both deep and wide knowledge, presented in a very non-dogmatic,
non-judgmental way. He requires that the students learn to
operate/learn from their own innate intelligence.”
~Keatin Holly

Thank you for the privilege of
working with you and your class from the Golden Gate School
of Feng Shui. Our building in Berkeley presents so many challenges.
It is a big complex mess. We were deeply impressed by the competence,
creativity and undaunted wisdom which was expressed in each
dimension of the work throughout the day. Your advice was sensible,
grounded in practical business understanding, and, I believe
once implemented, will be very beneficial. Your work as a teacher and advisor is simply
outstanding. We will keep you abreast of changes at the
building throughout the coming year. Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Bennett Johnston
Just quick notes to say a huge
THANK YOU for the privilege of studying with you over this
last year! It’s been fun, demanding,
challenging and rewarding. I also intend doing some of the further
modules with you in 2005. I'm inspired and think that I've finally
found that passionate path forwards. And the requests are already
rolling in! So, thanks again and travel well. Fondest regards,
Di. - Sydney
Have just finished the last stage
of my first FS consult. The client had been very low for a
long time. There was such synchronicity in the whole session
and we were so in tune, that he
emerged totally enthused. Has gone off to organize getting his
whole premises redecorated and reorganized during the Xmas break.
It was such an inspiring experience. Thanks
for passing on such wonderful knowledge, and for getting us to
a stage that we are able to get out there and apply it. Sydney

I was able to attend Roger Green's
Module 1 in San Francisco (presented by The Golden Gate School
of Feng Shui). During 2002, in New York City, I actually completed
Modules 2, 3, and 4. I originally started with Module 2 having
only read about Feng Shui. Because of Roger's concise and structured
way of teaching, I never felt as though I was handicapped by
not attending Module 1. In retrospect, I found it very stimulating
and exciting to go back to "square one" with the
knowledge I had acquired. I am looking forward to completing
the course...Roger has so much information to give his students.

“After just half a day of studying with Roger Green I
knew without a doubt that I had chosen the right teacher, the
right school, and the right community of people to spend the
year with on my way to becoming a feng shui practitioner. Roger’s
knowledgeable, articulate and well-grounded teaching style (along
with years of teaching experience), the integrity of the program
put together by the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui, and the
interest, commitment, and background of the other students makes
me feel completely confident that I am going to benefit immensely
from this experience both personally and professionally. I am
very grateful for having this opportunity so close to home.”
