Principles of Natural Healing, Longevity and Food energetics
Food energetics recognizes that much of the nourishment we ingest
comes from the energy component of Food. This leads us to make
more informed choices. When we select food which is filled
with Chi, fresh, brightly colored, organically grown and appropriate
for the timing and the needs of our physiology we achieve real
nourishment and open our awareness to the gifts of the unified
consciousness. This form the basis of many traditional healing
techniques.
There is no need to live with pain, fatigue, emotional imbalance
or illness. Optimum health is more than just an absence of pain
or symptoms. It is a glorious feeling of energy, vitality and
creativity. It is easier to improve your health if you know how.
This information is from the culmination
of many years of experience in practicing the principles of
Taoist natural healing. Roger Green has been the director of

The 8 Trigrams, Ba Gua, Ming Gua, Ba Zhai and Flying Star techniques
Use of the western designed LoPan Compass developed by Roger
Green
We continue our journey with an introduction to Compass School
Feng Shui (the second of the original 2 schools of Feng Shui).
Using the Western Lopan developed by Roger Green, as a reference,
you will be led to an exploration of what is possible when you
combine the 8 compass directions with the dynamics of yin/yang
and the 5 elements theory.
With the introduction of the eight directions
we follow the evolution of the “Later Heaven Trigrams” to construct
the “Bagua” (an octagonal mandala with infinite uses
in Feng Shui). We examine the Lo Shu (the magic square of Feng
Shui) as it leads to the Ming Gua and Ba Zhai methods (the core
of “Eight Houses” Feng Shui).
Using these methods you will learn how to draw an energy diagram
that illustrates the 4 auspicious and 4 less auspicious directions
for the individual (Ming Gua) and for the structure (Ba Zhai).
Once you have mastered these two powerful techniques you will
be able to make informed and relevant choices for optimal design,
that relate equally to the structure and the people within.
This
includes:
Basic floor plan layout
Ideal color choices
Ideal locations for doorways
Ideal fabric, carpet and furniture choices and placement
Ideal bed orientation for improving your sleep potential
Ideal orientation of desk for home or professional office
Ideal alter locations
Ideal location for Master Bedroom
Ideal locations for maximum prosperity
Ideal location for water features
Ideal location for kitchen and hearth
Ideal locations for garages
Best locations for bathrooms and storage
And more!
This module will cover:
The basic use of the Lopan compass
Compass Feng Shui for northern and southern hemisphere
Constructing the Bagua (Northern and Southern Hemisphere)
The origins of the Lo Shu magic square
Ming Gua method (auspicious direction for the self)
Ba Zhai method (auspicious directions for the structure)
East and West life groupings
Integrating Ming Gua and Ba Zhai with Form School assessment
Reading the Lo Shu portents from the Lopan Compass
Balancing the Lo Shu portents
Constructing and decoding the 8 trigrams (early and later heaven
sequence)
The trigrams and the I Ching
Taoist alchemy
Directionality and travel
Maximizing Sheng Chi and minimizing Sha Chi
“No one covers this subject as clearly as Roger Green.
Some of the subject matter is quite intense. Roger’s lighthearted
generous and very insightful teaching style opens the door to
maximum understanding for the students. Also his explanation
of Southern Hemisphere Feng Shui that he developed -will makes
a believer out of you”.

Flying Star techniques - Advanced Lo pan Compass
With this topic we enter into the exploration of Flying Star
Feng Shui and a more in-depth and advanced study of the Lo pan
Compass.
The Universe is ever changing and natural
influences evolve with the passage of time. Flying Star Feng
Shui incorporates the elements of time and space. It will enable
you to trace the pattern of change through the 20-year periods
called “ages”.
It makes it possible to access the fortune of a dwelling. With
practice, one can learn how to unblock energies that affect the
aspects of prosperity and health in a dwelling.
The Lopan Compass is the essential tool in Classical Feng Shui.
Its many rings reveal vital information in assessing a dwelling
or building site and contain a large body of knowledge that encompasses
classical Chinese philosophy, numerology and cosmology. The Chinese
Lopan can take a very long time to master since it requires prior
learning of the Chinese characters. The Western Lopan developed
by Roger Green simplifies the process and makes it easier for
the western student to learn and use.
You will learn to:
• Recognize the cycles of time and different ages.
• Construct a flying star chart using a shortcut developed
by Roger Green
• Transform or 'fly' in a forward or reverse manner depending
on the age and orientations involved
• Map year and month charts.
• Understand chart combinations, including inauspicious
combinations.
• Apply the appropriate cures (techniques for reversing
ill fortune and improving luck).
• Enhance auspicious combinations.
• Understand the symbolism of numerology including analyzing
addresses and phone numbers.
• Integrate previous knowledge of the form and Ming Gua
schools with the flying star to produce a professional report.
• Integrate associations of the 8 trigrams (body parts,
family member, symbolism, directions) to further predict the
tendencies involved.
• Master the 81 combinations
• Learn how to read the Lopan
• Derive Ming Gua and Ba Zhai information directly from
Lopan
• Translate the I Ching compass reading into the context
of a space
• Locate the 'hsueh' - (the feng shui spot).
• Map the Lo Shu portents of your dwelling.
• Identify the 'flying star' ring.
• Identify the directionology associated with your year
of birth and integrate it into your design; including the position
of the Xian Chi for enhancement of relationships.
• Discover the arrangement of the 28 lunar mansions and
61 elements
• Determine auspicious water and mountain locations for
placement
• Integrate time and space for a more effective Feng Shui
consultations
Flying Stars Feng Shui is the most widely used method used in
Asia. Many of our students have also studied Flying Stars Feng
Shui and the Lopan with other teachers. Their reporting has been
consistent: Roger Green has offered them the clearest, and most
understandable discourse on the subject, and his methods simplify
the processes so that they are truly usable on every project.
Many have also reported that they experienced a huge increase
in their abilities after taking this class.
“I have been learning Flying Stars
for 3 years and have studied with several of the other teachers
including a correspondence course. Only after taking this workshop
with Roger Green have I been truly able to put it all together.”
“This was the most comprehensive training a Feng Shui
practitioner could get. Being part of the NY School of Feng Shui
is an ongoing process of learning and achievement. We are prepared
to offer clients a full spectrum of options when asked to enter
their living or working space. I am grateful for the experience
and encourages to choose the same path.” Barbara, NY Student
2003

Practical site visits, Revision Exam, Student projects
In this Module, students will have the opportunity
to gain practical experience and apply everything they have learned
so far in a holistic way. They will also have the opportunity
to challenge themselves, know what they have mastered and become
aware of the areas that require further review. The focus of
this module is to build confidence in our student practitioners
and to assure that they are well trained before going out on
their own.
The first 3 days of this module are dedicated
to practical site visits to different locations. Students will
have the opportunity to experience the components of actual
consultations in a variety of settings; all under Roger Green’s
expert supervision.
The final day is dedicated to the review of the year’s
work to date. There is a take- home exam that will be reviewed
on day 4. Students will also have the opportunity to present
their Project to the class. Completing the exam and the project
are a requirement for certification.
Our goal is to achieve 100% success rate. Students who are not
quite up to speed will be encouraged and given support in their
weaker areas so that they may meet the standard of the school.
Doing Consultations
We will make sure our students are comfortable and adept in making
professional feng shui consultations. Students will be required
to perform consultations in between modules, so that they can
consolidate and apply the information and gain the necessary,
practical experience. After each of the first two modules,
students will perform one consultation, and after acquiring
more skill and confidence, students will be required to do
two or three after each of the remaining modules.
Creating Your Feng Shui Practice
Through a unique business plan, we will help students dedicate
to a solid business formula. You will learn vital marketing skills,
such as creating a business card, promotional brochures and website
development. We will help you begin and get you motivated to
start attracting clients. You will learn how to consult and follow-up
with clients for a 2-3 month period and sustain the relationship
for up to 6 months or more.
“Our consultation
was awesome. The students who came to give us the consultation
were so knowledgeable. They listened well and asked us great
questions. The questions helped us to focus on what we wanted
to get out of our consultation. After speaking to them we realized
that keeping our work and personal life separate was our main
goal since we both work from home.”
“They went above and beyond
that. We learned about what colors where best for our personalities,
where the best place to put things in the house are and how
to enhance the aesthetics naturally present in our Edwardian
apartment. Right after they left we started moving things around
and the suggestions we have already taken have really shifted
things in the house. Since my workspace is not separate from
the rest of the house our whole life and relationship has shifted.
We are creating more balance. It was a great experience; I
would recommend it to anyone.” Darshana Weilland Chris
Berkner, San Francisco
“The New York School of
Feng Shui is a gift to all who want to know the “real
deal” about feng shui. No gimmicks here.
This was a true educational experience. The importance
of knowing why certain treatments and cures work is stressed.
Roger Green is a master feng shui practitioner who generously
shares his life experience and knowledge of this ancient Chinese
art with his students with humor and with grace and ease. By
the end of the course work I was confident that I had the
tools and the knowledge necessary to be of service to people
interested in “being feng shuied”.-Melissa Moorer Nobles

The Four Pillars of Destiny
Discover the richness of eastern philosophy and
learn how to apply its principles to health, design, prosperity
and spiritual transformation. The 4 Pillars Astrology is based
on Taoist Metaphysics and Cosmology, which is used extensively
by Feng Shui experts in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
This is a fascinating study – Roger
takes you on a journey in time and space, yin-yang, spirals
and elements to the very core of the formation of your constitution.
He has been a pioneer in the west with this subject, has trained
hundreds of students and his case histories and workbooks are
legendary. He has also, for the first time in history, created
the principles for adjustment to the Southern Hemisphere, which
is only available to his professional practitioner students.
Time changes everything, therefore time cycle Feng Shui is a
must in the study of Feng Shui for the serious learner. Discover
the energetics and elements that make up your potentials. Uncover
many aspects of destiny, constitutional dynamics, and beneficial
elements. Learn the 60 Jia combinations of Time Cycles Men Qi??
This course will cover advanced methods and many case histories.
You will how to make your own chart, interpret it and do the
same for others. You will learn all the advanced methods of interpretation
and I Ching Hexagrams based on your date of birth
The Four Pillars is an ancient system that reveals aspects of
destiny, constitutional dynamics, and beneficial elements. This
sophisticated method is as useful for deriving important and
very personal Feng Shui information about Feng Shui clients as
well as clearly revealing aspects of their character. Armed with
superior knowledge of their clients and their needs, the practitioner
can optimize the relevance and results of the consultation.
Four pillars is an ancient system of constructing
a Horoscope based on the “Heavenly Stems” and “Earthly
Branches” at the hour, day, month and year of birth. Interpretation
is the result of examining the manner in which the elements and
animal archetypes contained in the charts interact with aspects
within the chart as well as conditions in the world.
Four Pillars’ greatest strength for
Feng Shui is its ability to accurately determine the Element
make-up of the subject. Once the self-element is determined
beneficial elements can be recognized and the most appropriate
Feng Shui adjustments and design choices can be made.
In this Module you will learn to:
• Calculate the Natal Four Pillars chart
• Calculate the Ten Year Luck cycles chart
• Calculate annual Pillars charts
• Calculate daily pillars charts
• Calculate charts for Northern and Southern Hemispheres
• Understand the significance of Earthly Branches and Heavenly
Stems
• Analyze Four Pillars charts to determine strengths and
weaknesses
• Understand which animal archetypes interact supportively
• Understand which animal archetype combinations should
be avoided
• Understand special charts and their implications
Four Pillars knowledge will enable you to:
• Determine the quality of Chi at the moments of birth;
tendencies that we maintain through our life
• Determine tendencies in past, present, and future decades
• Determine tendencies for specific years
• Determine tendencies for specific days
• Determine beneficial and harmful elements for Feng Shui
• Understand the element balance in an individual’s
natal chart
• Determine the best choices for romance and Marriage
• Determine the greatest chances for prosperity
• Understand how to improve power in your life
• Understand how to increase creativity
• Understand special challenges in your life
• How to best moderate your energy
• Determine the best colors and design configuration for
an individual
• Discover relevant health information
• Understand the implications of certain element and animal
combinations
• Determine character, education, intelligence, talent
• Determine key information about family relationships
• Determine auspicious and inauspicious timing for specific
activities
Roger Green is a pioneer of Four Pillars in Western culture,
having introduced these methods for the first time to thousands
of students in Europe, UK, USA and Australia. He created the
first effective protocols for 100% correct chart calculations,
stressing the importance of determining correct local solar time
and by developing the appropriate adaptation for calculating
Southern Hemisphere charts. This has never been accomplished
before in history.
Included with this course is an extensive
step-by-step manual for calculating and interpreting Four Pillars;
which is not available anywhere else and contains Roger’s
simplified technique for creating Four Pillars and Luck Pillars
charts.
“It was like reading a good book,
the characters are built up, the surprise builds, the plot is
revealed, and one gets the ‘ah-ha’ moment.
I enjoyed how the layers of information led into something meaningful.” – Student
from 4 Pillars Class, San Francisco, May 2004
“With the logic of a master mathematician
and the inspiration of a spiritual teacher, Roger takes you
on a thrilling ride from this humble earth into the cosmological
forces and patterns governing our lives. His workshops provide
not only tools for living in the here and now but also an understanding
of the place of humanity in the universe. The end result is
a healing of the rift existing in our culture between the material
and the metaphysical.” ~Jessica Levine, USA

Increasingly in today’s industrialized world, we are inundated
with previously unknown sources of chemicals and pollutants and
unseen electromagnetic and microwave radio frequencies unleashed
into our environments from common equipment, appliances, building
materials, and finishes. It is a well-known fact that chemicals,
inorganic compounds, molds, allergens, electromagnetic fields,
and microwaves can cause biological stresses and disease to the
body - the effects of “Sick Building Syndrome” are
now widely felt in our homes and in our office environments.
Many reports have concluded that people are compromising their
health as a result of being constantly surrounded by the 50 Hz
AC electrical grids. Learn the latest information on power lines,
electrical sub-stations, fluorescent lights, mobile phones, televisions,
computers, microwave ovens, electric blankets, ionizers, clock
radios, and a whole host of other electrical appliances used
in homes and offices
• Hands-on practice to learn proper use of meters for measuring
EMFs and safe levels of exposure
• Easy methods to
reduce your exposure to EMFs
Electromagnetic fields, and
microwave transmissions are now a fact of life. They fill our
air and surround us on a daily basis – whether we’re aware of it or not. In order
to safeguard our health, and that of our families, we need to
become aware of what they are, where they are, what they’re
doing to us, and how to minimize their effect on us.
We’ll learn about the differing types of fields, what
produces them and also refer to the research about the impact
on our health. We’ll look at what we now call ‘everyday’ situations,
in the home and office, and at ways in which we can eliminate,
avoid or minimize the amount of fields that are present in our
homes and offices. We also learn to prioritize – which
areas of the house are most important, which appliances or technology
we need to use with caution, and how we can still live in the
modern world whilst protecting our health.
If you’ve ever wondered about power lines, substations,
laptop computers, wireless technology, baby monitors, low-voltage
lights, clock radios, electric blankets, mobile phones, cordless
phones, microwaves – or any of the other appliances in
your home or office – then this is the course that’ll
give you the answers!
The Healthy Dwelling and Eco Design Principles
Knowledge of Building Biology is an essential component of the
Feng Shui course, because it enables us to guide our clients
towards optimum health. When giving a client advice on the
best way in which to arrange their home – we need to
be very aware of any environmental factors that may compromise
their health.
This segment also addresses the biological and health aspects
of our dwellings. We will examine strategies to detect and mitigate
unhealthy conditions such as indoor pollution, and physical dangers
in our living and workspaces. Learn to test, diagnose, and provide
solutions for creating healthier indoor space using organic design
principles and materials
We will also explore practices for creating healthy and vibrant
indoor environments such as the principles of Eco Architecture
During this class you will develop a healthy living toolkit
and learn
• What does it mean to create a "healthy" dwelling?
• The principles of the "Breathable House"
• How to identify the major sources of indoor air,
water and electromagnetic pollution
• About safe alternative products
• Easy design principles that support a nurturing, healthy
environment
• How to create a life-renewing bedroom and kitchen
Building Biology Principles:
• Looks ahead to a vision of a future worth living
• Like the Taoists - designs with nature as its role model
• Calls for a total approach to a healthy living environment
with outstanding and responsible innovation
• Considers individual occupants, fellow humans and the
environment as a whole
Air Quality:
We can’t live without air. However, often we are living
with Air that is neither fresh nor clean – and doing so
compromises our quality of life, health and longevity. Increasingly
in our homes and offices, the air quality is depleted because
of moulds, or the variety of chemicals and synthetics that we
use. These are either in products that we bring into the house,
or are already contained in the building materials and/or the
furnishings of the house itself.
We’ll examine what these
chemicals and synthetics are, how we come across them in everyday
life (usually without even being aware of it), the impact they
have on our health, and how to turn the situation around so
that we can move closer to the fresh, clean air we used to
breathe.
Water Quality:
We Are water- and water is a fundamental requirement for Life.
Traditionally, our water supply came from constantly moving
streams, rivers or springs – and was energized, clean,
pure water that added to our health and vitality. Nowadays
the water that comes out of our taps is quite a different story.
It’s often a depleting cocktail of bacteria, heavy metals,
pesticides and chemicals. We’ll take a good, strong look
at the state of our tap water – what’s been added
to it, what that means for our health – and most importantly,
what we can do to provide ourselves with water that actually
nourishes us once again.

Living environments and Permaculture Sustainable Design with
Patricia Michael
Permaculture is a philosophy, which works with natural rhythms
and patterns of Nature to consciously create designs that care
for both people and the Earth itself. Permaculture mimics the
patterns and relationships found in Nature to provide an abundance
of food, and energy. It harmoniously integrates landscape, shelter
and people so that their needs are provided in a way that is
sustainable.
It is a practical concept that can be applied to either a balcony
in the City, a suburban block, or a farm deep in the countryside.
• Permaculture – what
does it mean?
• Permaculture Design – how does it work?
• Design methods – how can I achieve that?
• Construction Materials – what do I use?
• Climactic factors – can I do this anywhere?
• Garden maintenance – how do I keep it going?
• Water management – what if it doesn’t rain?
• Working with the Elements – how to protect your
garden
• Energy-efficient housing – keeping waste to a minimum
• How to Green our cities
• Urban renewal strategies
• How to apply Permaculture techniques to your private spaces
These trainings with Patrica
will be an intimate experience of doing practices with our
senses to begin to learn how to read the sacred
book of nature.
We will learn how to use sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell,
intuition, heart and mind along with association of personal
experience to become aware of the unique aspects of any site,
be it building or land. We will learn how to employ these principles
to broaden the way we think about our bodies and our environment.
It will include exercises, lectures, discussions and design
examples from Patricia’s twenty years of Permaculture
experience, a veritable feast of techniques for growing our senses
to analyze a site and make elegant, low-impact and healthy choices.
We will learn how to use digital photography, colors, symbols
and forms as well as words to take notes about a site, and we
will learn how to design for health, comfort, beauty and safety.
Design with a Deeper Agenda
Including designs for Gardens and Landscapes using Permaculture
principles.
This is a design system for
creating sustainable human environments. Base your designs
on the observation of how healthy, natural systems work. Learn
how to really harmonize with nature! Emphasize integrated pest
management, disaster-proof designs. Improve the quality of
water, air, soil, sound and peacefulness on the site. Create
useful connections between elements through judicious use of
placement, scale, and edge dynamics and 'Patterns of Nature'.
This course describes the discipline of landscape design with
particular emphasis on healing and regeneration of the land.
It is a design system for creating sustainable human environments.
The Book Of Nature extends this effort to create environments
that are healthful and nurturing for the humans and other species
inhabiting the site and that are sustainable in their use of
natural resources. It concerns itself with wellness and health
in many facets: environmental, economic, social and psychological.
This is landscape design with not only ethics, but also a deep
understanding of the 'Book of Nature'.
The Soul of the Dwelling with Patricia Michael
We will learn how to go deeper into the unseen
world of the site, the soul of the dwelling and the landscape,
and the soul of the designer (ourselves). The class will introduce
Sufi teachings from Hazrat Inayat Khan to give us personal practices
to achieve the attunement necessary to work with the unseen elements
of the dwelling, the landscape and ourselves. We will strengthen
and sharpen our attunement with the whole, learning specific
blessings and how to work with elements, breath and movement.
Using the analogy of our bodies as our first architecture,
we will be introduced to the development of architecture from
Sufi stories and how spaces have been designed in the Middle
East, North Africa and India to support the development of the
human spirit. On the last afternoon we will open the subject
of obsessions and impressions and how to strengthen the Truth,
including special blessings to remove harmful impressions.

Living Environments: Human Ecology restoring our oneness with
nature with Carol Venolia
The human being is the fulcrum for a worldwide shift back to
valuing the web of life. When we really feel in our whole bodies/beings
how interconnected we are with the rest of life and the natural
elements, we will better understand how to preserve the vital
life spirit. In this session, we'll explore many ways in which
current buildings damage us and divorce us from aliveness, and
you'll learn how nourishing your senses can bring you back into
harmony with nature.
• The Paleolithic touchstone:
what our evolutionary roots can teach us today
• The sun and our health
• Sensory nutrition: what our eyes, ears, noses, and skin
need from our world
• Chronobiology: getting our natural rhythm back
• Biophilia: the biological basis for love of life
Outdoor Rooms: Microclimate Design, Backyard Wildlife Habitat
Gardening
While outdoor living is increasingly fashionable, this session
will go well beyond the superficial and stylish. Building on
the human ecology lecture, we'll look at outdoor rooms as a way
to expand living space in ways that are not only affordable and
energy-efficient, but that also surround us with the sensory
delights we crave. By reviving the tricks that our pre-petroleum-era
ancestors knew, you'll learn how to achieve comfort by making
the best of the gifts of sun, wind, and water, while minimizing
their not-so-welcome impacts. Furthermore, by applying the simple
principles of backyard wildlife habitat gardening, you can make
even an urban balcony into a place that brings pleasure while
helping to restore the damaged web of life.
• Why outdoor rooms make
sense for health and ecology
• Using outdoor rooms to improve a home's energy-efficiency
• Site analysis: assessing natural gifts and challenges
• Simple climate modifiers to increase human outdoor comfort
• The four basic principles of backyard wildlife habitat
The Nature of Sustainable and Regenerative Design
Green building is a hot topic these days. But what's behind the
checklists and the competition to be greener than thou? This
segment looks at Deep Green Building, examining a straightforward,
enjoyable process by which we can come to understand how buildings
actually function as consumers of resources—and how we
can achieve a deeper understanding of our role in the world
by getting to know the building materials and systems that
support us.
•Resource cycles in our
buildings: sun, air, water, earth, goods, and food, waste
• A strategy for designing with nature
• Responding to site and climate
• How to select green building materials
• Introduction to building science: flows of air, moisture,
and heat
What Makes a Healthy Home?
We would never intentionally create homes that harm us, but it
happens all the time through lack of knowledge. In this session,
you’ll become familiar with the factors that affect our
health inside buildings, and how to accentuate the positive
and minimize the negative.
• Light: how it affects
our mind and body, and what kinds are best for us
• Color: how to work with this powerful factor in our surroundings
• Sound: how to recognize and deal with noise, and how to
introduce healing sounds
• Symbolism: the powerful effects of our environments' message
content
Healthy Heating and Cooling—Natural
and Augmented
We'll look at one of the main motives for creating shelter—staying
warm when it's cold outside, and cool when it's hot outside—and
examine how to achieve healthful thermal comfort by understanding
what our bodies need. Here again, the Paleolithic Touchstone
is helpful; our bodies evolved in intimate relationship with
natural heating and cooling that we rarely experience today.
We'll explore ways to enjoy more of those natural sensations,
as well as how to efficiently and healthfully augment natural
heating and cooling with fuel-based systems.
• How our bodies work with
warmth and coolness
• Basic principles of heat transfer
• Using a bioclimatic chart for natural heating and cooling
• Types of heating and cooling systems, and when to use
them
Natural Remodeling
One of the greenest things we can do is improve the buildings
we've got; they represent a tremendous investment of resources,
yet many of them are currently damaging to humans and the biosphere.
This session will show you how to apply what you've learned
in the preceding Living Environments classes to "naturalizing" existing
homes. Inspiring slides of eco-remodeling projects, from minor
to major, will illustrate the concepts.
• How to analyze a house,
its site, and its dwellers
• Developing and applying a natural remodeling strategy
• Low-hanging fruit: easy, inexpensive improvements
• More advanced moves: altering a building's spaces and
systems
• Special considerations for special rooms: kitchen, bathroom,
and bedroom
Creating Community at Home—Urban
Ecovillages
Once a home is in better balance with nature, it only makes sense
to look to a larger realm. While many people want to leave
behind existing cities and suburbs to start over on raw land
and create ecological community, many others see the environmental
and social value of staying put and helping to heal the places
that need it most. A slide show of several California urban
ecovillages will fill your image banks with a range of possibilities.
• Starting small: one neighbor
at a time, one fence at a time
• In the belly of the beast: Los Angeles Eco-Village
• The co housing revolution
• Forms of ownership and governance
Naturalizing a Home: Pigments, Paints, and Plasters
When we move into a new home, what is the first thing we do to
make it feel like our own? We paint the walls. It is also one
of the first things we explore when we remodel. This is our
personal signature.
Considering that most of us spend 80% of our time in buildings,
material choice is crucial to a healthy living environment. Wall
surfaces cover a large area, and paint is a common source of
indoor air pollution.
In this session, we will discuss
why current wall finishes can be hazardous to your health.
Through lectures, you will discover the alternative world of
natural materials, and in hands-on exercises you will learn
how to make, mix, and apply "Alis," a
clay paint used for hundreds of years in the tradition of the
people of the southwest.
• Safe, ecologically sound,
fun alternatives to conventional paints and wall finish: casein
(milk) paints, clay paints, and earth plasters
• Intuitive Design: beginning a conversation between your
body and natural materials
• Pigments, paints, and plasters: where to buy them, local
resources, making your own
Natural Furniture:
We will explore green furnishing options from the standpoint
of ergonomics, chemical components, as well as material sourcing.
• Ergonomics: how to achieve
physical efficiency and comfort
• Furniture toxicity: materials, chamber testing, and smell
acceptance
• Resource issues: where on earth did these resources come
from, what energy do they bring with them, and what does their
taking leave behind?

Space Clearing and Harmonization Rituals,
Dowsing and ‘The
Soul of the House”
NOTE: These seminars are embedded in the eight module trainings
for the Feng Shui Practitioner course - and by attending the
advanced training in Space Clearing (Track C) you are awarded
the Certificate Course in Space Clearing and Harmonization
• Learn how to create Sacred Space that
are vital and energized and in tune with Nature.
• Transform the spaces that you live and work in and bring
the Magic and ‘Pure light’ back into your life
The energy of your surroundings affects you
on many levels. Clearing the energy of your space can create
the opportunity for powerful change. All cultures have some
form of Space clearing or “Space Healing” rituals
that would focus in positive qualities into the space for its
occupants. The idea of filling a space with pure, healthy energy
is not new. Spiritual paths including Tibetan Buddhism, Christianity,
Native American and Feng Shui have always placed a high priority
on creating a clear and harmonized atmosphere in our homes
and workplaces.
There is nothing like a living space that feels just right.
We may all have very different tastes in decoration and furniture
style but when it comes down to the feel of a place we would
probably all agree that we don't want to live in a space that
makes us feel uncomfortable and ill at ease. What makes the energy
in a living space uncomfortable? It is usually an accumulation
of stagnant energies. These negative energies can accumulate
in a number of ways because we are constantly creating energies
around us with our thoughts, intentions, emotions and words
Space Clearing and Harmonization is the process in which a beautiful
ceremony is performed along with other methods to refine the
subtle energies of your home or business. It is non-denominational
and is not affiliated with any particular religion but belongs
to all the ancient and traditional cultures, including the west.
We all leave energetic impressions on our environments, both
positive and negative and our environments make impressions on
us. Space Clearing and Harmonization in your home or office removes
residual unpleasant energies. Drawing from Balinese, India, Chinese,
Native American, Celtic and other ancient traditions, you will
learn to perform specific time-honored sacred rituals to clear
and balance and fill the physical, emotional and spiritual energies
of your space with love, joy and light.
When is a Blessing or Clearing Ceremony recommended?
• When any major changes occur in your life or have not
been happening in your life new job, new relationship, the onset
of pregnancy.
• On building or renovating a home or office
• Grounding Breaking Ceremony
• On experiencing a loss: death of a loved one including
pets.
• After angry arguments with family or friends. *
• Houses where couple after couple moves in, get divorced
and move out again.
• Business premises where company after company have moved
in with high hopes and then proceed to go bust
• Objects that have a reputation for bringing negative energy
to their owners
• Homes where current and previous occupants have moved
in, got ill and now the new owners are ill
• By clearing the negative and/or stuck energy of our homes
and businesses we can move with confidence into the future, we
find that the things we wish for in our lives come with greater
ease and Feng Shui cures work more effectively.
Cleansing
Using special harmonic bells, sacred mantra’s, smudging
with the smoke of anciently revered herbs and plants, and a variety
of other tools, you will be able to release stagnant fields of
energy and any negative vibrations
Purifying
The clear tones of a bar chime, pinchon bells, or other tool
purifies each area.
Invocation
Learn how to write positive affirmations for each area of your
life
Maintenance
Through the use of lighted candles, aromatherapy spray infusers,
a quick spritz with scented water or even the sprinkling of
sound of a delicate bell maintains the clarity of your home's
energy.
Clutter Clearing for Feng Shui
It is important
to acknowledge how powerful and transformative the act of Clutter
Clearing is to the whole practice of Feng Shui. Until effective
Clutter Clearing has been done Feng Shui cures and enhancements
usually only produce minimal results. Clutter Clearing is a powerful
tool for growth that can be incorporated into a Feng Shui consultation
or used as a stand alone process.
Fundamentally, Clutter Clearing
is about letting go. Let your unloved or unused items go and
allow the chi to flow! It involves letting go of the physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual attachments that inhibit us from
having a life free from fears and negative emotions.
Any kind
of clutter acts as an obstacle to the flow of energy or chi around
a space. This in turn creates stuckness and/or a lack of clarity
in the lives of the occupants.
You will be guided through the
steps of radically transforming your relationship to clutter.
• Learn about the immense benefits of living a clutter-free life
• Get to the source of clutter issues. You will be taught how
to identify physical, emotional and spiritual clutter.
• Learn
tried and tested techniques for clearing clutter
• Clutter and
the Feng Shui bagua
• Clutter and Feng Shui Symbology
A major
focus of this course is helping you gain the confidence and clarity
to make decisions and take action in your life!

Dowsing and Energy Clearing with Zeeba Mehta
Learning to work with and align with the invisible
magnetic energies that create our world is an essential part
of not just our own personal evolution, but a fundamental aspect
of any design service we wish to offer.
Detecting and understanding invisible energies and forces is
an essential part of achieving optimum design in relation to
health and well-being. Dowsing has been utilized in one form
or another in every culture and tradition since the beginning
of time and refers to tried and true techniques for tapping into
universal consciousness. These techniques permit the dowser to
seek information and guidance that may not be easily available
in any other way and often allows the gathering of information
and answers that reach beyond our rational, intellectual mind
and our physical senses.
Dowsing is an ancient practice and a natural biological skill,
easily learned and practiced. You will learn to use simple biofeedback
tools (the pendulum and L-Rod) as extensions of your own awareness,
and the concept of Space Clearing - how to use your biology to
embed with the energetic stresses in the environment and bring
about positive change.
You will learn the seemingly magical use of the 2 primary Dowsing
tools: the L rod and the Pendulum. We will explore their many
uses:
• Detecting and interpreting Earth energies
(the lines and sinews of Chi that run in, through and over
the body of the Earth - also known as ley lines)
• Detecting residual energies that we encounter in homes
• Detecting stuck entities inside the home
• Using the pendulum to verify information
• Using the pendulum to find the "sweet spot"
Geopathic Stress:
In order to complete the overall picture of a healthy home, we
can’t afford to overlook this important topic. Geopathic
Stress relates to the stress suffered when a human body (or
even animal or plant) spends time in contact with areas of
distorted energy running through and along the Earth. We’ll
talk about what causes Geopathic Stress, the differing types,
where they are found, how they affect us, how they can be detected
and what to do when they’re found.
Earth Energies, Land Rituals, and Earth Healing
We will learn rituals that promote well being, health, and prosperity.
Land blessings, energy clearings; groundbreaking rituals, and
consecrations ceremonies will be introduced. Earth Healing
techniques will be explored both for the curing of geopathic
stress, as well as for traumas caused by historic events such
as wars, crime, or even excessive construction.
We will also explore basic space clearing and emotional clearing
techniques using: sound, sight, smell, sense, and intuition.
We will explore the reasons why energy gets stuck in the first
place and what you can do to move that energy. You will gain
an understanding of the different planes of existence and the
intersection of the seen and unseen worlds. We live in a vibrational
world - everything that exists around us consists of vibrating
energy.
Additionally, you will learn the ethics associated
with this work, and methods of grounding and protecting yourself.

The
Academy of Sacred Geometry
Note - This course is not held every year.
A School of Learning and Unraveling the Mysteries of Life
A Personal journey for the Alchemy of the Soul
A Universal journey for the Evolution of Consciousness
NOTE: No
previous experience is required in music, art, mathematics or
physics. We have a balance between the technical and experiential,
and a wonderful balance and play between left and right brain
qualities. We also offer on-going advanced trainings and retreats
with teachers from all over the world, once you have mastered
the Foundation Certificate Course.
Introduction to Sacred Geometry
Discover why Pythagoras said Sacred Geometry was the most important
science, art and philosophy for a healthy society to learn.
No lesser souls than Leonardo, Kepler, Goethe, Bacon, Gurdjieff,
Steiner and Fuller and all western spiritual traditions and
alchemists held Sacred Geometry close to the core of their
beliefs and applications in life. It involved a deep meditative
attunement and close observation of nature. Suppressed for
thousands of years - this lost knowledge of Truth, Beauty,
Evolution and Harmony is slowly being rediscovered.
In the East- we have
the TAO
In the West- we have Sacred Geometry
The
Ancients such as the Sumerians, Egyptians, Druids, Essenes and
Mayans incorporated Sacred Geometry teachings into their mystery
schools. Their initiates had to learn the Alchemy of the Soul.
From the mosaics of Sufi Art, the pyramids of Ancient Egypt,
the Mandela’s of Vedic Philosophy and Vastu Shastra, to
the calendars of the Aztecs and mystery schools and secret societies
in the western world, to the medicines of India, Tibet, China,
Celtic and Druid – Sacred Geometry has long bridged the
world of spirit and matter. It continues to play an integral
role in the traditions of art, architecture, science and cutting-edge
physics, alchemy, feng shui, geomancy, music and mathematics.
To truly understand Sacred Geometry we have to
understand that everything in the universe is made up of energy
and it is in a continual state of transformation. All actions
obey distinct patterns, and Sacred Geometry describes these laws
through patterns, shapes, forms, music, proportions, and ratios.
A blueprint of creation, it is an interface between the seen
and unseen, the manifest and unmanifest. It unravels the mysteries
of life and explains how we are all from the same source, unity
and onessness. It is a study of the underlying principles that
make our Universe be able to EXIST!
Sacred Geometry gives you the opportunity to take
a BIG PICTURE look at yourself and your place in the world. Once
mastered, it can be applied and used as a tool in healing, meditation,
visualization, counseling, teaching, researching, biofeedback,
sacred space design, feng shui, dance and movement, architecture
and the creation of peace, emotional coherence, longevity and
peak experiences.
It is a universal language of truth, harmony,
beauty, proportion, rhythm and order.
From the dance of sub-atomic particles to spiraling galaxies,
and the concepts of wave theory, Zero point and Holographic fields,
advanced systems of healing, Bio Feedback, The Fractal Universe,
The geometry of DNA, Nature, Art and Sacred Architecture and
the ‘WIND on which LOVE Travels’
It is a pathway to understanding who you are,
where you are from and where you are going.

A Guide to Sacred Geometry - The Foundation
Course
Symbolic and Creative Geometry with John Lloyd and Karl Lorenzen
Geometry
is the common ground between many of the cultures and traditions
on our planet going back to the beginning of the human story.
In our primary experience, the sun and moon would be powerful
images of round forms circling in the sky, so the circle can
be seen as an image of heavenly order. A triangle could be a
mountain representing an approach to the sacred or it could represent
fire, a transforming or nourishing energy. The square could be
the cardinal directions, the four seasons or the four times of
the day, a description of our experience of being in earthly
time and space.
In these classes we will look at, discuss, draw,
and construct these shapes and explore other forms and patterns.
The drawing exercises have been designed so that they will be
interesting for people at all levels of experience and be incorporated
into the presentation. There will also be some time devoted to
exploring the geometry of 3 dimensional forms. In this way we
will experience the ideas and feelings that will be described
and see the potential that the material has for healing and inspiration.
Every culture and society, since the beginning
of time has had their version of a synergistic interrelationship
with these patterns.
• An
introduction to the language: the shapes, numbers and patterns.
• The geometry of living forms: the golden section, Fibonacci sequences, the
five-pointed star and the spiral. We will also look at the idea of beauty and how
the parts relate to the whole
• The geometry of the solar system and its relationship to our earthly experience.
We will draw a diagram that incorporates all the proportions of our solar system
• The symbolism of numbers especially the number 12.
• Why the twelve tribes, the twelve apostles, the 12 of the clock face the
12 members of a jury?
12 astrological types?
• We will also look at Rose windows, patterns from Morocco and the image of
the 12 petals of the heart chakra in the Vedic tradition
We will view case histories and examples of the
patterned language of nature, including geometric shapes, music,
art, the human body, landscaping, architecture inspired by the
Cosmic Order, including Feng Shui, Sacred Geometry and Vastu
Shastra (vedic design) Mandela’s. Historical as well as
cultural perspectives will be entertained so as to draw a relationship
between primitive indigenous and modern design.
We will draw the sacred shapes and explore their
integration into real world design. We will explore the practical
uses in design - integrating Sacred Geometry and architectural
harmonies into your design work.
The Golden Ratio - The
Divine Scale
The golden ratio describes the special relationship found in
nature between two parts of a whole. It can be described
in terms of number, length, area, volume and, to a certain degree,
beauty and consciousness.
We are a microcosmic reflection of the macrocosm. The structure
of the human body is based upon the same set of principles
that are found functioning on all levels of creation. Our body
contains within it holographically all the information of the
universe.
Initiation into understanding:
• The Universe is made of one substance and has one shape – the Sine
Wave.
• The world is made up of waves and sacred proportions.
• Geometry produces symmetry. Waves get permission to arrange themselves and
to store memory from ‘ONENESS’, through the Golden Mean ‘Phi’ ratio – the
secret of the universe and the most accurate scientific pure principle to describe
how things relate and function, evolve, change and manifest.
• Waves are drawn to FOCUS and automatically sort themselves and agree to
sustain via Sacred Geometry. They align to still points, creating ‘CHARGE’, ‘ecstasy’ and
LIFE FORCE.
• When the harmonics of the brain-body-heart-planet enter into NESTING, they
do so by the principal of FRACTALITY. The small is within the large; the pattern
of your fingertip is the same as the galaxy.
• The doorway of perception is to holographically connect all of life processes – past,
present and future.

Testimonials from one of the longest established Feng Shui curriculum...
This was the most comprehensive training a Feng Shui practitioner
could get. Being part of the NY School of Feng Shui is an ongoing
process of learning and achievement. We are prepared to offer
clients a full spectrum of options when asked to enter their
living or working space. I am grateful for the experience and
encourage you to choose the same path. Many blessings, Barbara,

Dear Roger, My language is not perfect,
I feel more than I can express…
Roger’s “Learn Tao” course really made a connection
for me, Feng Shui Practitioner, with Chinese Traditional Medicine
and created a holistic view on a person within an environment.
It helped me to address my own health issues and see my friends
and clients health problems in a new way. I felt like I found
the answers that I’ve been searching for years. I’ve
done a lot of research and study before I’ve met Roger
Green and the depth of his knowledge really impressed me. I thought
I will take a course or two from him, but I could not stop, I
ended up taking all of them. He is full of knowledge and wisdom,
he is humble and humorous, perhaps, like a Real Taoist Master
and Teacher should be. Natalia Kaylin (UKRAINE)
I just read through your information on Feng Shui in the southern
hemisphere and wanted to thank you for the quality of your writing.
I am moving house in Melbourne and I've been using the approach
you describe for 2 years following a period of trying to live
with the conventional method for the northern hemisphere. I found
the difference to be enormous, but don't seem to rub shoulders
with many people of like mind. Your explanation makes me feel
comfortable with what I have done.
Thanks for taking the time to read this message, and for your
brilliant article on the website. With Best Wishes, Dean Sky-Lucas

You would be so proud of me as I am being
flown to Kentucky - all expenses paid for my first full paying
consultation. This woman's house burned down 9 months ago leaving
only the foundation. She has already rebuilt the house and is
soon to move back in when she found me. I have also been practicing
on other people and just did one of my acupuncturists home and
spent 5 hours with her. It is amazing when you do a combination
of the 4 Pillars with the home. This is truly healing on a deep
level. Thank you so much for this ancient wisdom and being in
my life. – Melanie, NY Student
"I'm studying Feng Shui with Roger Green from Australia.
He's the best teacher of any subject that I've ever encountered!
The amount of information that he brought into that short introduction
to this work was incredible. But more importantly, he instills
this incredible sense of joy, wholeness, hope and fun into
life! He has a great Australian accent, has a wonderful
sense of humor, and teaches ancient wisdom that we all recognize,
but have forgotten.” -Nancy, Yoga School Manager
The New York School of Feng Shui is
a gift to all who want to know the "real deal" about
feng shui. No gimmicks here. This was a true educational
experience. The importance
of knowing why certain treatments and cures work is stressed.
Roger Green is a master feng shui practitioner who generously
shares his life experience and knowledge of this ancient Chinese
art with his students with humor and with grace and ease. By
the end of the course work I was confident that I had the
tools and the knowledge necessary to be of service to people
interested in "being feng shuied". — Melissa

What an awaking seminar! It enlightens
me deeply, giving me far more that I could imagine. The first
module showed me that from the microcosm of human life, we
learn the vast & profound
realities of the macrocosm. Roger Green couldn’t have been
a better guide for exploring this integral & harmonious way
through the natural principles of Feng Shui. Isn't what we all
are seeking in our turbulent society?

“Roger is a powerhouse of wisdom! His teachings style
is down-to-earth and easy to understand, as well as knowledgeable
and entertaining. It’s a great balance for learning from
him whether you’re a beginner or advanced student.”
~Caroline Patrick, USA
“Roger Green brings a wealth
of both deep and wide knowledge, presented in a very non-dogmatic,
non-judgmental way. He requires that the students learn to
operate/learn from their own innate intelligence.”
~Keatin Holly

I have experienced many teachers in this area; Roger is one of
the best.”

Thank you for the privilege of working with you and your class
from the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui. Our building in Berkeley
presents so many challenges. It is a big complex mess. We were
deeply impressed by the competence, creativity and undaunted
wisdom which was expressed in each dimension of the work throughout
the day. Your advice was sensible, grounded in practical business
understanding, and, I believe once implemented, will be very
beneficial. Your work as a teacher and advisor is simply
outstanding. We will keep you abreast of changes at the
building throughout the coming year. Many Thanks and Best Wishes,
Bennett Johnston
Just quick notes to say a huge THANK YOU for the privilege of
studying with you over this last year! It’s been fun, demanding,
challenging and rewarding. I also intend doing some of the further
modules with you in 2005. I'm inspired and think that I've finally
found that passionate path forwards. And the requests are already
rolling in! So, thanks again and travel well. Fondest regards,
Di. - Sydney
Have just finished the last stage of my first FS consult. The
client had been very low for a long time. There was such synchronicity
in the whole session and we were so in tune, that he
emerged totally enthused. Has gone off to organize getting his
whole premises redecorated and reorganized during the Xmas break.
It was such an inspiring experience. Thanks
for passing on such wonderful knowledge, and for getting us to
a stage that we are able to get out there and apply it. Sydney

I was able to attend Roger Green's Module 1 in San Francisco
(presented by The Golden Gate School of Feng Shui). During 2002,
in New York City, I actually completed Modules 2, 3, and 4. I
originally started with Module 2 having only read about Feng
Shui. Because of Roger's concise and structured way of teaching,
I never felt as though I was handicapped by not attending Module
1. In retrospect, I found it very stimulating and exciting to
go back to "square one" with the knowledge I had acquired.
I am looking forward to completing the course...Roger has so
much information to give his students. Angela, New York, NY

“After just half a day of studying with Roger Green I
knew without a doubt that I had chosen the right teacher, the
right school, and the right community of people to spend the
year with on my way to becoming a feng shui practitioner. Roger’s
knowledgeable, articulate and well-grounded teaching style (along
with years of teaching experience), the integrity of the program
put together by the Golden Gate School of Feng Shui, and the
interest, commitment, and background of the other students makes
me feel completely confident that I am going to benefit immensely
from this experience both personally and professionally. I am
very grateful for having this opportunity so close to home.”
