Why Do Feng Shui Practitioners Need to Know Sacred Geometry? Working with Nature's Laws of Harmony
with Richard Feather Anderson |
Did you know that Chinese temples, pagodas, and palaces were originally designed with sacred geometry? Or that Feng Shui developed from observing the patterns of Nature? Richard is passionately engaged in reviving this forgotten knowledge -- that the proportions and geometry of Nature are an absolutely essential component of organic architecture and feng shui design. He will reveal the inherent relationships between chi flow, sacred geometry, and harmonious placement. His mission is to return to the roots of Feng Shui via Sacred Geometry, which is one of the best sources for understanding Nature's laws of harmonious relationships.
Richard will discuss the endless benefits from learning and applying sacred geometry, which include the ability to: (1) increase your observation skills - to see what others miss!; (2) recognize the essential patterns of a place - to know what to adjust; (3) cultivate an eye for beautiful proportions - that reconnect humans with Nature; (4) subdivide rooms so the smaller areas carry the same "tune" as the whole; (5) interpret the symbolic meaning of shapes and numbers - to choose appropriate objects for remedies; and (6) deepen your understanding of Feng Shui theory - to work at the level of universal principles of life. Come and develop a sense of the natural "harmonics of spaces."
Part One of two sessions: This illustrated presentation will provide the background information needed to learn some of the practical techniques offered in Richard's hands-on, follow-up session on "CREATING HARMONIOUS PROPORTIONS"
Creating Harmonious Proportions: A Hands-On Application of Sacred Geometry
A hands-on exploration of several techniques, uniquely devised by Richard, that you can take home and apply immediately to use Sacred Geometry and the Natural Laws of Harmony in your feng shui or environmental design practice. Learn how to work with the same proportions (geometrical relationships of length to width) that Nature uses to guide the growth of all material forms, from molecules to crystals, plants, flowers, animals and the human body. Through a visual, kinesthetic, non-mathematical approach, grasp an understanding of the "golden ratio" or "golden rule." But also realize that Nature's full set of building blocks includes three other "Root Harmonies" and a range of "musical" harmonics. Don't leave the conference without the full deck of cards!
Acquire simple ways to train yourself to perceive and correctly identify these proportions in your surroundings and furnishings. Learn how to divide spaces harmonically, so the subdivisions carry the same "tune" as the whole. See where to place a couch to create sitting and dining areas that resonate with the proportions of the parent space, so the subspaces don't feel like orphans. Begin to sense how the ancient master builders used sacred geometry to create the temples, cathedrals, mosques, civic buildings, plazas, homes, and sculpture that still inspire us with their beauty, hold us in a soulful embrace, and connect us with the Cosmos.
Please Note: This is a more advanced, practicum session, built upon the information provided in Part One, WHY DO FENG SHUI PRACTITIONERS NEED TO KNOW SACRED GEOMETRY? Please attend Part One first, unless you already have a working knowledge of the Golden Mean and the other Root Harmonies, so that we can go deeper into practical applications in this follow-up session.
About Richard Feather Anderson
Richard Feather Anderson, B.S. Architecture, is an internationally recognized pioneer in the revival of geomancy, feng shui, sacred geometry, and labyrinths, who founded the world's first comprehensive multi-cultural geomancy school in 1985. Richard employed sacred geometry to design the trend-setting Chartres labyrinth replicas for San Francisco's Grace Cathedral and has incorporated all these perspectives into the design of buildings to create richly symbolic forms in harmony with their surroundings. He began studying Nature's patterns and geometry in childhood, and has continued since 1987 with Dr. Keith Critchlow, Professor Emeritus of the Prince of Wales Institute of Architecture, who is acknowledged as one of the greatest living authorities on the mystical teachings of Pythagoras, Plato, and Islamic sacred art. He was among the first non-Asians in America to study feng shui with Prof. Lin Yun, but also has a deep background in western geomancy, having studied with the leading British and American experts in Earth Mysteries and Celtic geomancy.
Richard offers a unique multi-disciplinary perspective, as a result of his knack for finding the common ground among diverse geomantic traditions, sacred arts and natural sciences; uncovering the underlying universal principles; and adapting ancient wisdom to the modern world. His seminars feed the body, mind and heart by conveying information through awe-inspiring visual images and hands-on exercises. Attendees at his presentations most commonly describe Richard as a teacher who blows their minds with his radical insights, and inspires them with his passion, humor and enthusiasm.
