Introduction to Energy efficient Principles used in the design of an energy efficient building.

Gareth Cole will demonstrate how the 5 principles used in planning a home so it will be energy efficient. this was developend into a policy a dn won a national enegy managemen award . Over 74 councils now use these policies in NSW Australia.

Building Construction Materials and Methods
Gareth will discuss the building materials he selects in the construction of his eco buildings.
You will see a Powerpoint presentation covering each of the main materials used in his buildings.
Eg; Concrete Slabs, Water, Hebel, Roofing, Insulation and Timber. In other words connecting the Principles with simple materials to make the building work
Living in Healthy house will be covered in part , the low toxic house , for allegy sufferers and just healthy living.

Energy Systems for Town and Country Areas
Gareth will explain the different types of energy systems used
for basic solar hot water throught to running power of the grid, grid interactive and ways to design and handle the varous systems and issus out in the market especally for remote areas. Gareth won the silver medal for a house in the desert of Australia that has no water power or sewer connected
So waters systems, sewer and remote power systems will be covered where you will see what is involved in making your building project alternative or not.
